Hi! I’m Mallory.
I am a seasoned social media professional with over 13 years of experience in digital media, community management and content strategy. Passionate leader and architect of teams. Currently leading the Brand Social publishing team in our efforts to drive engagement and awareness for Warner Bros. Discovery's slate of fan-favorite programs across HBO, Max and Discovery+.
SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT PLANNING AND STRATEGY
Managing the output across major Brand social media handles is an intricate puzzle involving dozens of teams. At @Max, @HBO and @Discovery+, we are the keepers of the calendars, post copy, asset specs - every detail that comes together to form a cohesive social strategy. From a complete social rebrand of HBO Max to Max at the launch of a new product, to making sure our fans always know what to watch, my team makes sure the pieces of the puzzle fit together and deliver on our goals. And we manage to have fun doing it.
Influencer marketing
Bringing our fans together to share their love for our brands is a passion of mine. I've helped craft memorable experiences for influencers and sponsor partners to help reach marketing goals in creative ways.
In December 2021, we partnered with popular content creators TINX, Rod Thill and others to reach new social audiences for discovery+, broadening our brand appeal among Gen Z and Milliennial cord-cutters looking for entertaining reality programming.
LIVE EVENTS
On-the-ground social media coverage at IRL events requires a special juggling technique and lots of extra phone chargers. I have experience expanding the footprint of local events using smart social media strategies and content planning.
Before the pandemic, my team and I were on the scene creating exclusive behind-the-scenes content in real-time for Instagram and Facebook to give fans insider access to the #HGTVLodge at CMA Fest in Nashville, TN.
DIGITAL VIDEO
I’ve had the chance to work with crazy-talented editorial teams to bring fresh, creative lifestyle content to life on digital platforms.
Cube Takeover was my first (and still my favorite) digital series production project. Ever wish HGTV could zhuzh up your workspace? Watch us crash some cubicles.
SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS
I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to speak and present at several industry conferences on a variety of topics. During New York Advertising Week in 2016, I participated in a panel discussion with other content experts about our Pinterest programming strategies.
I’ve also given presentations at Digital Summit and BarkWorld Expo on social media strategies and changing industry trends.
VOLUNTEERING
It it essential that social media teams reflect the audiences they’re speaking to. Diversify Social Media is an incredible initiative led by some of the industry’s most experienced leaders to provide training, networking and job placement, free of charge, to BIPOC applicants who are looking to start careers in social media. During one of their sessions, I authored and facilitated a virtual course about how to create engaging social media content, pulling from my real-world experience at HGTV. It’s been a thrill to see course alumni go on to be hired in social media positions at prominent companies.
